The truth

Why most women stay stuck

Women are twice as likely as men to develop depression. Fewer than 10% of affected South Africans ever receive treatment. Mental health conditions are among the leading causes of disability worldwide.

  1. 01

    You are high-functioning, but exhausted.

You hold the family, the job, the community. The invisible emotional load is real, and nobody is checking on you.

  2. 02

You have never been in a room built for you.

Most wellness spaces were not designed for Black African women, our grief, our heritage or our lived experience.

  3. 03

You do not need another self-help book.

You need three days in a curated, intentional space, away from everything you manage, so you can feel again.

  4. 04

    You keep postponing yourself.

After this project. After the children are older. After I am less tired. The waiting has become the wound.

  5. 05

You are one circle away from healing.

When the right women sit in the right room, the restoration that was not possible alone becomes possible in hours. That room is here.

Is this you?

These three days are yours.

This is for you if you are a restoration-ready woman: high-functioning, and quietly carrying more than anyone knows. You have been everything to everyone. These three days are yours.

  • Corporate professional carrying burnout in silence
  • Entrepreneur who has built the business but lost herself
  • Educator, healer or public servant ready to refill
  • Mother who needs a room that holds her too
  • Woman in a new season: grief, divorce, identity shift
  • Anyone looking for a circle that feels like home

Women in the room — holding space for one another

The question

When did you become everyone's safe space?

You are the one people phone. The fixer. The provider. The listener. The mother. The firstborn daughter. The one who says: I will handle it.

Even when you are exhausted. Even when nobody asks what you need.

You smile. You say you are fine.

But what if you did not have to be fine here?

For three days, you get to put the weight down.

No performance. No pretending. No explaining why you are tired. Just room to breathe, listen, feel, connect, remember, become.

This is your journey back to yourself

Friday 9 October · REST

The Village

Before the world told you who to be, there was you.

Fireside talks on indigenous wisdom and mental health, then the Nourish Dinner. Praise poetry in Sepedi, Tshivenda and Xitsonga. You arrive as a delegate. You leave the room as somebody's sister.

Vid 1 · Friday 9 October

The Village

The Village. 9 October 2026, Sun Meropa, Polokwane. The night two hundred women sit down at one table and stop performing.

The first night is a dinner, and it is where everything softens. Women arrive from across the country, sit down at one table, and stop performing. Praise poetry in Sepedi, Tshivenda and Xitsonga. Elders who speak the old way. No stage, no hierarchy, nothing to prove. You arrive as a delegate and you leave the room as somebody's sister.

Saturday 10 October · RESET

The Healing Garden Festival

World Mental Health Day · General R690 · VIP R1 500

One day in the garden that gives you back to yourself. Healing circles, Kgoro conversations, workshops, the women-led wellness marketplace and live music.

And when the sun goes down, the RISE Stage

RISE Stage live music · 18:30–22:00

Music. Movement. Joy. Sometimes healing sounds like music.

Vid 2 · Sunday 11 October

The Ancient Long Table

The Ancient Long Table. 11 October 2026, the Sun Meropa boma. One table, one sky, and the meal that sends you home differently.

The weekend closes the way it should, around one long table under a Limpopo sky, with chef Chris Sebola cooking. Three days of circles, honesty and rest land here: women eating together and telling the truth. The elders give the closing word. Nobody rushes to leave.

Sunday 11 October · RISE

The Ancient Long Table

One table. Many stories. One sisterhood.

Every gathering has to end somewhere. Ours ends at a table, under a Limpopo sky, with chef Chris Sebola cooking. The elders give the closing word. Nobody rushes to leave.

You don't need to know anyone. Come anyway.

Come alone. Come with your sister, your mother, your best friend. Or come because something inside you is whispering: I need this.

Come on your own. Leave with sisters.
